1. Colour scheme of
the new buildings.
A number of
people have wondered why the new buildings are a different shade of
'cream' from the rest of the campus. Apparently the new colour reflects
less glare and will probably be adopted for the rest of the campus.

2. The future of the
Gravel carpark.
Yes. The potholes have been filled in (!). But the long-term
solution is to get it tar-sealed!
Unfortunately most of the area has been set aside for new
buildings so its likely to remain un-tarsealed, although extra parking
space is in the pipeline including parking outside
the new Gym.

3. More
sidewalks. I asked about new sidewalks being constructed
in a
couple of areas around parking bay 2 (opposite the new gym).

4.
Leaky guttering
needs fixing. Fixed last Thursday
16th October!
Some students have mentioned that there is a leak in the guttering
between QA and QB block - in the area outside QB6 and the Expresso
Bar.

5. Electronic
noticeboards:
I
suggested a system of electronic noticeboards be looked at as a way of
improving communication around the campus (similar to what airports
have). The purpose of which would be to rapidly get messages out
to staff and
students e.g. room changes, advertising etc... .
For instance I noticed someone's carlights
were left on in one of the parking areas, but didn't report it to
facilities because I know there isn't system in place to get a message
out to people on the campus. Had there been an electronic noticeboard
system, a warning could've been posted - with the driver affected being
able to receive the warning within the hour (by reading the
noticeboard).
Apparently a
something similar is being successfully being used at a
Canadian university.

6. More DVD's
at the library.
The library is going
to be converting more video's over to DVD. This will address a problem
experienced by students who've been unable to view video's because the
players are all in use while DVD units remain free.
Carn't wait to
check out the new titles!
